Arcana
Arcana is a 2D platformer game blending classic pixel aesthetics with the responsiveness of the contemporary action genre. Players battle an onslaught of foes through fluid movement, katana slicing, and lots of blood. The game is inspired by dusty NES cartridges, dark occultic aesthetics, and badass ninjas.
The goal of this project was to incorporate many aspects of game development together into one polished product. I had zero game development experience just 5 months ago, and Arcana represents how much I've learned in such a short time!
Quick disclaimer: This game has Xbox gamepad support, but is broken with Playstation controllers. If your character continually dashes or walks right, try unplugging any PS controllers connected to your system.
Enjoy slicing away!

Good luck making your game; the art so far is pretty okay and the mechanics, if they are altered to be more like your description indicates, sound interesting!
